Lebanon High School’s Wet Paint Players present Trial of the Wicked Witch
Since 1924, Lebanon Opera House has served as a vaudeville theater, movie house, city hall, and performing arts center – a vital community hub and gathering place for people of all ages.
Today, LOH continues to serve as the beating heart of Lebanon’s thriving downtown, an anchor of the City’s burgeoning creative economy.
At LOH, we take pride in serving as the home base for our community. Throughout the year, a range of beloved Community Arts Partners and the Lebanon School District (“the big stage for little kids”) set up residence at LOH. Our house becomes their home and we’re proud to uphold a 100-year-commitment to supporting community participation in the arts.
No matter the artist’s age or level of experience, they all have the opportunity to perform on a professional stage with expert technicians and state-of-the-art equipment. Both on- and off-stage, participants receive mentoring by LOH staff who emphasize quality technical production and professionalism. As of May 2024 we have 10 community arts partners with 80% of stage time dedicated to community arts partners and school shows.
Springtime always spells many community-based performances coming through the doors of LOH. Recently we’ve seen performances from Upper Valley Symphony Orchestra (April 14), New England School of the Arts (April 20), City Center Ballet (May 4), and Lebanon High School’s Wet Paint Players (April 26-28) mixed in between nationally touring artists like Tom Papa, Paula Poundstone, and Tommy Emmanuel, CGP.
