Joe and Phil point out the LOH lobby mid-construction

Since becoming executive director in 2017, I’ve been planning for this moment: LOH’s 100th anniversary! Our beautifully renovated theater and refreshed brand are a tribute to everyone who has supported LOH during this time of unprecedented change, including an amazing board and staff, dedicated volunteers, creative community arts partners, hundreds of generous donors (individuals, foundations, and businesses alike), the City of Lebanon’s leadership, and thousands of patrons like you.

If you haven’t yet visited “the new LOH” I encourage you to join us for an upcoming performance. When the times comes, know that it took a village to make this building shine. A talented collective of architects, designers, builders, craftspeople, and painters – all artists in their own right – worked tirelessly to make LOH a truly world-class performing arts center.

Although it’s unfair to shine the spotlight on one contributor in particular, I must acknowledge my LOH@100 partner in crime: Phil Harrison (pictured above). It’s safe to say this project would look very different without Phil’s support. After nine years as a board member, Phil’s “retirement” from LOH service was short-lived. He was part of the visioning process back in 2019 and jumped right in as volunteer project manager for the renovation. Throughout, Phil’s quiet voice and steady hand helped us navigate the complexities of a large-scale building project. We’re so grateful for his commitment to making the performing arts more accessible and transformative for the entire Upper Valley region – thank you, Phil!

Although this amazing building we call home has been outfitted to better serve the needs of artists, audiences, and staff members for the next 100 years, the work is not done. The LOH@100 Campaign continues, and you can play a starring role in it. To discover ways in which you can contribute, visit our website. We have an exciting centennial celebration ahead and look forward to sharing highlights with you through this forum.
