“They don’t just play this music. They live it. And they make you feel like you’re part of it too.” — No Depression
The bassist leads an improvisational acoustic ensemble inspired by the collaboration between his father (David “Dawg” Grisman) and Jerry Garcia.
Known for deeply attuned interplay and dynamic performances, Sam Grisman Project brings together a rotating cast of exceptional musicians to create listening-room experiences rooted in musicianship, storytelling, spontaneity, and collaboration.
With frequent guest appearances and ongoing collaborations with bluegrass pioneer Peter Rowan, the band continues a living tradition of great American acoustic music.
Please note: To preserve the sonic integrity of their instruments and voices, SGP performs into condenser microphones. The sound on stage is fully acoustic and sensitive, so the band kindly asks patrons to hold their conversations during the performance.
