The Lebanon High School Music Department returns to LOH for their annual November Concert. This concert includes performances by LHS’s Concert Band, Concert Choir, Superlatives, Jazz Band, and new String Ensemble. SAU88 and Lebanon Opera House have a long standing relationship and the high school is excited to kick things off this year with their first concert.

The String Ensemble, a new performing group that started this fall, will be opening the concert with 3 well known classical pieces arranged for their quartet. The Concert Band will feature a diverse program centered around music inspired by or written about animals. Composers featured include Michael Daugherty, Julie Giroux, Daniel Bukvich, and Leroy Anderson. The Jazz band wraps up the concert with a program largely centered around the blues, with a few twists thrown in. Expect to hear music by Duke Ellington, Sammy Nestico, and Count Basie, among others.

On the vocal side of the program, the Concert Choir will present a program that includes classic folk tunes, pop music, and seasonal work to get you in the festive mood. The Superlatives are presenting repertoire that has all been composed by female composers, including works by Clara Schumann, Rosephanye Powell, and Elaine Hagenberg. The groups come together at the end of the vocal section of the concert to perform a swinging holiday classic- come to the concert to find out what it is!

The students in every ensemble have been hard at work since the start of the year, and we hope you come out to enjoy this wonderful performance.
