For more than 25 years, brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson have been a beacon of so-called “Modern Mississippi Music” – their one-of-a-kind mix of soulful country blues, high-energy rock, and groovy psychedelic improvisations.
These disparate influences come naturally to singer-guitarist Luther and drummer Cody. Their dad is the celebrated producer and session musician Jim Dickinson who has worked with legends such as Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.
As teenagers, the Dickinsons moved from Memphis to the Mississippi Hill Country and quickly fell in love with the music of local legends including Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside. In response, they formed North Mississippi Allstars with a rotating cast of musical partners to showcase a diversity of styles, all rooted in the blues.
Along the way, they’ve earned five Grammy nominations and toured relentlessly alongside Mavis Staples, Robert Plant, John Hiatt, The Black Crowes, Phil Lesh, Snoop Dogg, and many more.
The band is touring in support of their 2025 album Still Shakin’ and the current lineup includes Joey Williams of the Blind Boys of Alabama, and Rayfield “Ray Ray” Hollowman, an in-demand guitar player for hip-hop and R&B artists like Eminem and Ne-Yo.
