Guitarist Christine Tassan is a key figure in the world of “hot club jazz,” a style pioneered by the Romani guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt in and around Paris in the 1930s. A proud ambassador of the genre, she is also one of the art form’s rare female soloists.

At the helm of the Québec-based quartet Les Imposteures since its founding in 2003, Tassan continues to reinvent this timeless music (also known as Jazz Manouche) by integrating new ideas and influences with originality and flair.

In concert, the band’s performances are jam-packed with spirited arrangements of toe-tapping, hip swaying originals and reimagined standards sung in English and French.

This event is part of LOH’s FREE Nexus Music and Arts Festival. Location: Colburn Park (across from LOH/City Hall)
