The Lebanon High School Spring Concert will feature all the performing ensembles from the school. This concert is a celebration of the students’ year of growth and practice, and also a time to celebrate those students leaving us in June when they graduate. The Concert Band will open the program with the entirety of Little Mexican Suite, composed by Mexican composer Nubia Jaime-Donjuan, and originally commissioned by the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble and the Hopkins Center. The other selections by the band include a stirring version of America the Beautiful (arranged by Carmen Dragon), and the Finale from Symphony No. 2 by Paul Cravens.
The Choirs and Superlatives take the stage in the middle of the program, featuring a wide variety of works, including contemporary takes on classics like the Dies Irae and Kyrie Eleison. They will also be performing more popular tunes by Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, and both groups will come together to sing music from Hamilton. The Jazz Band will close the concert, with several works that feature graduating seniors, including a great Duke Ellington number, Blues for New Orleans.
