“[He’s] on a mission to uncover, preserve, and push forward America’s musical past – particularly Black musical traditions.” — WBEZ Chicago
Dom Flemons is the Grammy-winning cofounder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops and a multi-instrumentalist known as “The American Songster” – a fitting nickname since his repertoire covers more than 100 years of American roots music.
Over the past 25 years, Flemons has received major awards, gained worldwide media recognition, and become one of the most influential voices in American roots music. In addition to being a spirited performer of old-time country, folk, blues, and bluegrass, he is a noted music scholar and historian.
